Fort Erie Re-Enactment

In August of each year, Fort Erie is under siege as it re-enacts the War of 1812 on this bloodiest battlefield.

The event commemorates the battle that occurred between August 4 and September 21, 1814, opposing British and American armies. As many British soldiers were, at the time, busy fighting Napoleon in Europe, Canadian militia and First Nations warriors offered their support on this side of the ocean.

Even if you are not a history buff, you can easily appreciate the scene and interact with its main characters. They are, for the most part, a wealth of information and eager to share it with anyone who asks. They pursue war history as a hobby and thoroughly enjoy the role they play in this educational and entertaining activity.
